Suitable for almost any egg type including hen, goose or duck eggs, this super cold LED egg candler will help you test eggs without any risk of damaging their embryos. It’s best used in a dark so that you can precisely see what’s happening inside the egg.
The handle of the lamp is black and it’s made of aluminium for strength. The detachable hood is made from black plastic. The lamp takes 3 x AAA batteries (not supplied) – simply unscrew the end that has the on/off button, put the batteries in their container and screw the button back on. Then point the candling lamp at the egg.
This hand held egg candler is easy to use and operate: there’s an on / off button at the bottom of the torch. When it’s on, the high intensity LED lights allow you to monitor egg development in order to make sure that it continues to grow.
It’s best not to check your eggs too often as handling them too much increases the risk of damage, contamination and mishaps (even though if you’re new to this there’s a big sense of excitement). And remember to wash your hands before candling (or turning) your eggs so you don’t inadvertently transfer bacteria to them.
